Pomona is a town located at the base of Mt Cooroora at the northern end of the Sunshine Coast and is 100 minutes north of Brisbane and approximately 30 minutes driving time from Noosa Heads.
Pomona railway station is on the Nambour and Gympie North Line and the village is home to 2 famous annual events; Noosa Show Day, and the King of the Mountain (footrace). Pomona's other claim to fame is the beautiful Majestic Theatre which is the oldest continuously running silent movie cinema in the southern hemisphere. The theatre screens silent black and white classics and has recently been refurbished. It also caters for musical concerts, movies and other artistic presentations.
When visiting this picturesque country township, Railway House contemporary Art Gallery & the Pomona Museum are other attractions popular with tourists and locals alike.
